Silkwood Diary
11th August 2008 Pruning comes and goes...
As the end of Winter rapidly approaches Silkwood is winding down after a short but busy pruning season. With our great team of workers and the effervescent backpackers lending a hand, pruning took half the time we expected.
Attention is now drawn to the winery where the wines are being tweaked in anticipation of bottling in September. All of the wines are coming on extremely well and the Silkwood team are delighted with the results. We are eagerly awaiting tasting the first bottles.
It has been a wet winter so far, which is typical of the Pemberton region, but it's the perfect atmosphere to visit our beautiful Cellar Door. Celebrate the cooler months and sit by the open fire and enjoy one of our famous gourmet pies accompanied by a warming drop of our Old Dog Port. Or just laze in the lounge area sipping on a Café Latté and reading a coffee table book.
Children are most welcome at Lakeside Cellar Door with kid's meals available. After a warming lunch meander down to the lake and watch the kids feed the trout and take in the breathtaking scenery.
We are open weekends 10am to 4 pm.
