How many chalets are on the property?
There are four luxury accommodation chalets - each designed for just one couple - spread out along the tree line of lush bush. With a minimum of 50 metres separating each building from the next, plus trees and shrubs planted in between, privacy has been maximized.
All four chalets are identical in terms of lay-out and design. The only difference being varied interiors:
If you would like a particular chalet please let me know what you would prefer, all have the same design but with different colourings and furnishings:
The Chardonnay - Contemporary Native: muted tones which bring the colours of the outside in.
The Cabernet – A jazzy, ‘bling’ chalet, with white leather lounge and bed and silver and glass decor.
The Shiraz – Our Oriental theme with bright red walls and a four poster bed.
The Merlot - a modern style with contemporary furnishings.
Do you have a minimum night booking requirement?
Yes, we generally ask for 2 night minimum bookings with 3 night minimum over long weekends and holidays. However, some times, mostly on a last minute basis or in between two other bookings, single nights become available. Is your property Star rated under the AAATourism/RACV accreditation scheme?
Our chalets are in the process of being 5 star rated.
Is the access road to the property sealed?
Yes, all the way to the front door of your chalet!
What is the check-in procedure?
Check-in is from 2 pm and check-out at 10 am.
When you arrive, you can either go to our Cellar Door if it is open to check in or you can go straight to your assigned accommodation. Our contact details are in the chalets and we can be called any time during your stay if you need assistance or have questions. We are either on the property or not far away. If you let us know your approximate arrival time we will make sure that the heater or air conditioning are on to provide you with the utmost comfort on arrival.
How will my booking be confirmed?
All reservations made by phone or email are confirmed on the day of receipt of the deposit by e-mail.

How long will it take to travel to Silkwood?
Approximate travelling times are as follows:
• Perth CBD 3.5 hours
• Manjimup 20 mins
• Bunbury 1.5 hours
• Margaret River 1 hour
Can my booking remain a surprise to my partner?
Certainly. Just tell us where to discretely send the booking confirmation and after that, keeping the secret is up to you. You may also like us to order flowers, chocolates or a nice chilled bottle of bubbly to wait for you in your studio upon arrival. If you have any particular wishes on how to make your surprise even more exciting, call or send us and email and we will do our best to make your stay (and surprise) even more special.
Do you provide my personal details to third parties?
NO. We never divulge any of your details to anybody. We are committed to protecting our guests’ privacy before, during, and after their stay with us.
All bookings require a deposit equivalent to 50% of the accommodation price.
Do you sell gift certificates?
Gift certificates can be purchased by contacting us by phone or email. They can be sent anywhere and are available for an amount specified by you. The certificates are valid for one year and the cost is the same as our standard accommodation rates (a surcharge applies for certificates to be sent by express post). Payment in full is required before we issue Gift Certificates.
Are there business facilities?
Each studio has a notebook jack for internet connection. WiFi/wireless internet access is also available.
Do you enforce non-smoking inside?
Absolutely. Smoking is only allowed on the outside decking. Should guests wish to smoke inside an excess cleaning fee of $100 is applicable if evidence of smoking inside is found.
We also ask our guests to be extremely careful when disposing of cigarette butts. Just one carelessly disposed cigarette butt can cause an instant and devastating bush fire.
You should bring your favourite CDs or iPod and maybe a favourite book or magazine to read.
You may also wish to bring your own DVDs although Silkwood has its own complimentary DVD and book library for our guests to choose from.
Is there a supermarket close by?
There is an IGA supermarket in Pemberton just 15 minutes drive from Silkwood and a larger Coles and Woolworths in Manjimup which is 20 minutes by car. There is also a bakery and butcher shop in Pemberton.
Silkwood Chalets has been designed as a tranquil retreat for just one couple per chalet in one king size bed. However, babies in their own portacots are welcome at any time.
Silkwood is situated on a working vineyard and our neighbour is a working avocado farm and there is also a constant presence of native wildlife which makes the property unsuitable for family pets. Guide dogs are of course excepted and welcome at any time.
